MeBank, the 24 hour retail banking services of Emirates Bank, opened its doors on February 10, 2002, in the premises of Dubai Women's College. MeBank currently has 10 branches throughout Dubai.
MeBank is the self service delivery channel of Emirates Bank International. MeBank operates a series of outlets featuring ATMs, PCs and touch screen Internet machines, coupled with a cafe-type environment.
“The banking faculty at Dubai Women College viewed this venture as an opportunity to demonstrate to their students in a practical way, the future direction of banking,” Graeme Steele, group operations manager at Emirates Bank said.
In 2001 MeBank launched a full range of online banking products and services: MeAccounts, providing current or saving accounts in Dirham or foreign currencies, MeLoans and MeDrive for personal and car loans, and MeCards which includes silver or gold versions of MasterCard & VISA.
MeBank customers can make local and international remittances as well as telegraphic transfers and fund transfer between their own and to other customers' accounts. Customers can also pay utility bills, view account statements and more—all online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. — (menareport.com)
