Frances’s Alstom Power won a five million dollar contract to supply Occidental of Oman Inc. with two Tempest 7.7-megawatt gas turbine generators, to power water injection pumps at the Safah East Lobe water flood project in Oman.
The deal also includes the lease of a twin-trailer mobile generator, incorporating a pre-owned gas turbine. The low nitrous oxide and carbon monoxide emission turbines will be manufactured at Alstom's United Kingdom facility for delivery by the end of March, 2002.
The Ruwi-based Occidental Of Oman Inc. is a unit of Occidental Petroleum Corporation (Oxy), operating in the Gulf Sultanate. It is the largest private sector crude oil producer in Oman. Headquartered in Los Angeles, Oxy has been an important player in the region ever since the discovery of the billion-barrel Augila field in Libya in 1966. Since then, Oxy established strong positions in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Yemen and Oman. — (menareport.com)
