Bahrain Tourism Authority Hosts International Media Representatives During the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) hosted more than 30 media representatives, social media influencers and representatives from travel and tourism agencies during the Formula 1 2018 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

“The 2018 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix is one of the most prestigious international sporting events held in the Kingdom of Bahrain every year since 2004. The Bahrain GP has surely strengthened the Kingdom's position on the world tourism map,” said the Chief Executive Officer of BTEA, H.E. Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa.

“Through our representative offices located in Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, India, China and Russia, we have invited a number of media representatives along with social media influencers to attend the event. The main idea behind the invitation was to introduce them to the Kingdom in order to promote Bahrain’s touristic offerings to a wider range of audience,” he added.

BTEA’s tourism strategy aims to highlight the Kingdom’s tourism infrastructure and offering in order to further attract tourists and visitors from all over the world, as well as promote Bahrain as an ideal family tourist destination endorsed by all representative offices.

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BETA)

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority was established in 2015 under the Royal Decree number (76) for the year 2015 issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain. Whereas the first clause of the Decree number (10) stated that an authority should be established under the supervision of the Council of Ministers

In 2015, BTEA started its operations under the Decree number (9) for the year 2015 to append the Tourism Affairs to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce based on the recommendation of HRH Prime Minister and under the law number (62) of the year 2016 to establish and regulate the Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority (BECA) and the Decree number (1) for the year 1985 to establish a Supreme Council for Tourism, and the law number (15) for the year 1986 to regulate the Tourism sector amended by a Law by Decree number (12) for the year 1994.
