BTEA Receives the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Kingdom of Bahrain

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), H.E Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa, received in his office the morning of Thursday, January 10, 2019, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Ahmed Rashid Khatabi, to discuss the aspects of bilateral cooperation and areas of partnership between both countries.

H.E Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa expressed his pride in the long-standing relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Morocco, stressing that the brotherly and historic ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Morocco, which opened up wide horizons for cooperation and coordination across all fields, praising the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries.

His Excellency also reviewed the BTEA’s tourism strategy and directives, its continual efforts to strengthen the tourism sector and promote its growth and development, and discussed the adoption of mutually beneficial tourism initiatives for both countries.  

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco expressed his esteem for BTEA’s strategy, confirming his Embassy's support to continue to develop the tourism sectors initiatives between the two countries, affirming his commitment to build and consolidate bridges of cooperation between both countries further exploring other bilateral initiatives to achieve progress. 

Based on the solid foundations that the BTEA have established, with the aim of further developing the tourism sector and expanding its global reach, dedicating their efforts to develop plans, strategies and activities to grow the tourism sector, as a key sector contributing to development of the national economy and to the Kingdom’s Economic 2030 Vision.

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BETA)

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority was established in 2015 under the Royal Decree number (76) for the year 2015 issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain. Whereas the first clause of the Decree number (10) stated that an authority should be established under the supervision of the Council of Ministers

In 2015, BTEA started its operations under the Decree number (9) for the year 2015 to append the Tourism Affairs to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce based on the recommendation of HRH Prime Minister and under the law number (62) of the year 2016 to establish and regulate the Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority (BECA) and the Decree number (1) for the year 1985 to establish a Supreme Council for Tourism, and the law number (15) for the year 1986 to regulate the Tourism sector amended by a Law by Decree number (12) for the year 1994.
