Burgan Bank Concludes 2017 Summer Training Program

Burgan Bank concluded its annual Summer Training Program, a dynamic two-week in-house training specially designed for students. The program aimed to provide the young generation with leading insights into the world of banking and facilitate their integration into the Kuwait banking job market.
As the world of banking and finance is rapidly changing, Burgan Bank remains committed to enhancing the country’s human capital by taking the lead to meet growing market demands with innovative practices. Students underwent extensive training that included both a classroom set up and interactive activities such as on-site visits to different departments and branches of the bank. The educational visits included the wide network of branches and Burgan Bank’s call center, which imparted classroom schooling, seminars and in-depth understanding of day to day activities. During the training, students received the opportunity to explore different facets of the world of banking
Led by its commitment to help students and Kuwaiti youth thrive in a competitive environment, Burgan Bank’s training program focused both on practical and soft skills. Students were granted the opportunity to participate in an effective communication skills-building workshop, a highly interactive exercise designed to demonstrate the importance of communication as well as in team building exercises through a game room model called ‘Trapped In’. Students also trained on how to respond positively to challenges and meet with Unit heads as part of ‘Meet the Leaders’ exercise, aimed at elevating their management knowledge as they embark on their careers. Through this exercise, students acquired exceptional learning into the various work methods while driving inspiration from the leaders’ achievements.
The Summer Training program initiated in 2002, has since maintained its pioneering role in fulfilling new generational needs by providing hands-on professional training programs to talented youth and introducing them to the banking realm. The specialized programs aim to bridge the gap between classroom and real world experience as they invest in themselves to match current job market skill requirements. Burgan Bank will continue its dedication towards upgrading all sectors of the society and reaffirm its stand as a young credible leader that is committed to progress.
The Summer Training is part of Burgan Bank’s ongoing mentorship programs, which falls under the umbrella of the Bank’s corporate social responsibility strategy aimed at benefiting different segments of the community. Burgan Bank's full-fledged community program is titled ‘ENGAGE’ – Together to be the change. This program sheds light on important aspects affecting every segment of the society by promoting social welfare through educational, cultural, social and health initiatives. Burgan Bank’s approach to 'ENGAGE' begins with a vital principle that as a Kuwaiti financial institution, its conduct and policies should be aligned with the needs and interests of the Kuwaiti society.
