BurJuman celebrates Eid with exciting shows and performances

Magicians, musicians, dancers and more will make BurJuman buzz with excitement and family fun over the two days of Eid Al Fitr celebrations this year as stage shows, roaming performers and winning opportunities bring the festive season alive for children and grown-ups alike.

The first evening of Eid will see the mall’s South Village and Observatory areas come alive with three dance shows. Four expert dancers will bring a bit of Andalusian panache to the mall’s festive offerings in three performances of Flamenco at 6:30 pm, 8:00pm and 9:00pm,with the first performance at the South Village and the next two at the Observatory. The venues will also see performers present Brazilian beats with Samba shows at 6:40pm, 8:10pm and 9:10pm, while three experts will present the traditional Egyptian Shamadan or Candle dance in two showsat 6:50pm and 9:20pm, brightening up the mall as they sway with delicately balanced large candelabras on their head.

The lively strains of the piano and colourful Tannoura performances will regale visitors to BurJuman on both days of Eid in several short recitals.

Setting a festive atmosphere for Eid shopping from the afternoon onwards, a pianist will present six short performances each on both days at the Pavilion Gardens. The performances will be at 1:10pm, 2:00pm, 2:40pm, 6:20pm, 7:40pm and 9:20pm. Meanwhile, lending an even more celebrator yair to proceedings, the Tannoura dancers will present the colourful twirling spectacle in the mall’s South Village with two shows beginning at 7:30pm and 9:10pm on the first day of Eid and at 7:20pm and 9:35pm on the second day.

The second day of Eid will have anenchanted beginning at BurJuman with a very interactive and entertaining magic show. Using sleight of hand and various other techniques, the magician will showcase his art, making items disappear and reappear at will to the crowd’s amazement. The two magic shows will take place at the mall’s South Village at 6:30pm and 8:00pm.

The shows and performances that follow will also be nothing short of magical.Visual magic will be created by Statue, a two-personact that keeps audiences guessing until the very end whether the performers are human or double-headed creatures straight out of the pages of a fairy tale. The Statue performances will take place at 7:30pm and then again at 9:00pm in the Observatory area.

An unusual and creative specialty act, Slinky will follow Statue at 7:45pm and 9:15pm in the Observatory. The solo performer will have the audience eating out of the palm of his hand as he contorts and stretches to slink into the tightest of spaces.

There’ll also be great rewards in store for shoppers at BurJuman during the festive period with a total of AED 2 million up for grabs.

The Dubai Shopping Malls Group raffle draws will offer a total of AED 1 million in gold and diamond jewellery vouchers – draws will take place on the 3 days of Eid with 4 daily winners each taking home AED50,000 worth of jewellery vouchers. The final Mega draw on 14 August, 2013 will see 4 lucky winners each win AED100,000 worth of gold and diamond jewellery vouchers.

Shoppers will also be in the running to win another AED 1 million worth of shopping vouchers – 1000 winners will each take home AED1000 worth of vouchers as part of a special Eid “Scratch and Win” promotion.

Shoppers will receive one raffle coupon allowing them to participate in the raffle draws and “Scratch and Win” promotion with every purchase of AED200 at the mall.
