Treat – The BurJuman World Food Fest 2013 opens with Sanjeev Kapoor’s Culinary Magic
Super celebrity chef and television personality Sanjeev Kapoor was the main attraction on the opening day of ‘Treat’ – the BurJuman World Food Fest 2013 yesterday (May 14), as the second edition of the mall’s popular culinary festival got off to an aromatic and appetizing start.
Chef Kapoor, who has teamed up with the Melia Hotel, Dubai, for his restaurant, Signature, turned up the heat in his inimitable style at the mall’s Teka Chef’s Theatre, taking 12 masterclass participants and the large audiencethrough the intricacies of his innovative fusion Indian dishes. Making the sessions even more enjoyable was his charismatic style of interacting with guests, embellished with anecdotes,witty comments and his trademark charm.
“I believe Dubai is one of the top-10 gastronomical destinations in the world. There is no cuisine that is not represented here in all its authenticity and complexity,” Chef Kapoor told the audience. “But good food should always be simple – that’s my mantra. We complicate our lives enough, so we should at least try to have food that is pure, uncomplicated and naturally tasty.”
Set to delight the taste buds of Treat visitors tomorrow, May 16th, will be Chefs Diyan, Dammika and Sai from Radisson Blu, who will be demonstrating the secrets of Modern German and Vietnamese cuisines.
With a series of free masterclasses, cooking demos, audience competitions, exciting rewards and delicious free sampling, Treat – The BurJuman World Food Fest 2013 – is offering a wonderful interactive opportunity to dining enthusiasts, aspiring chefs, families and foodies to learn about different aspects of fine dining from leading industry experts at no cost at all.
