Downtown Rotana to host inaugural Christmas Tree Lighting to kick off the festive season

With the much-anticipated festive season soon approaching, Downtown Rotana, the stylish luxury hotel located in the heart of Bahrain’s capital, is gearing up to host its first Christmas Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 8th 2016, and has put together an exciting agenda that promises an unforgettable evening for guests and visitors of all ages.
The biggest attraction will be an enormous gingerbread house that will stand tall at the main hotel lobby. Expected to reach 4 metres in height and 6 metres in width, created using over 380kg of gingerbread dough, the hotel aims to take the lead for building one of the largest gingerbread houses in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The evening will also include an appearance by Santa where children will get the opportunity to meet him and receive token gifts, and will conclude with the customary lighting of the Christmas Tree which traditionally marks the official start of the festive season. A key highlight of the evening will be the choir which will consist of people of different ages, as well as Downtown Rotana’s choir which will consist of 19 of staff members.
Speaking on the event, Mr. Patrice Cornee, General Manager of Downtown Rotana said: “This year we will be celebrating Downtown Rotana’s first festive season and inaugural Christmas Tree Lighting; we want it to be memorable. We have put together an exciting program for the evening and we hope our guests are mesmerized. The festive season is a very important time for the hotel, we are anticipating many guests coming into town and we want them to feel like they are at home away from home.”
Downtown Rotana’s Christmas Tree Lighting will take place at the hotel lobby on December 8th 2016 at 5.30pm; festive canapés and beverages being served throughout.
