Drumming, dancing, dress-up – BurJuman Weekend Fun kicks off with a blast

Beats and laughter set the weekend mood at BurJuman on Thursday and Friday, March 1-2, as the first of three consecutive weekends filled with free ‘Weekend Fun’ activities kicked off with rhythmic Drumming Workshops for kids. The little ones had an audibly good time as they cheered and beat the drums, watched some African dances on stage and took part in some exciting group games. 

This upcoming weekend (March 8-9), kids can show off their dance talent as they watch talented professional dancers pop, lock and krump onstage – and learn some moves of their own. The Hip Hop Workshop will progress from teaching simple steps to choreography and ensemble routines with a dance off at the end of each session and 6 prizes up for grabs each day. Kids will be able to get the look with colourful hand-made props such as bandanas and beaded bracelets or go all out with beaded braids and temporary tattoos.  

Little fashionistas visiting the mall in their favourite Denim attire will be in for a treat come March 15-16 with the Denim Fashion Show and Catwalk Workshops. A professional model coach will teach kids how to walk the ramp, while a kiddie make up studio with nail art and hair salon will get them prepped and prettified for the catwalk. There’ll even be time to personalize their own tote bags, make jelly bean jewellery to go with their outfits and win super prizes in fun games dressing up mannequins or copying fashion-forward looks. 

The ‘Weekend Fun’ activities have no entry fee and will take place from 6-9pm on 8-9 and 15-16 at Level 1, opposite Virgin Megastore, BurJuman. Kids can pre-register at any information counter for the Catwalk Workshops before March 15. All other events can be registered for on the day.
