Dubai Sports Council delegation visits Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University to strengthen strategic cooperation

Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University (HBMeU), a leader in the field of e-Learning and quality management in the Arab World, recently received a high-level delegation from Dubai Sports Council to discuss common objectives and strategic cooperation in large-scale investments for human resource development and creating communication channels for the exchange of knowledge and experience. The Dubai Sports Council delegation included Nasser Al Rahma, Director of Culture and Social Activities Affairs and Basem Easa Belal, Technological Resources Officer. The delegation was received by Prof. Nabil Baydoun, Learners & Enterprise Development, Assistant Chancellor, HBMeU, and Serine Al Salhat, Executive Director of the Chancellor’s Office.

The Dubai Sports Council delegation reviewed HBMeU’s experience in disseminating knowledge, developing e-Learning in the Arab world and training students in accordance with best international practices, as well as enhancing their competitive abilities to succeed in the local, regional and international job markets. The Dubai Sports Council delegates likewise reaffirmed their support to the digital transformation of Dubai and the UAE with the launch of the council’s new website that serves as an interactive platform with its target audiences. The delegation discussed the main strategies and policies in designing, implementing and operating the website, as well as quality performance measures, the website’s structure and the role of the website in promoting interaction with the public.

The visiting delegation lauded HBMeU’s leading role in bringing education in the region to a new frontier for innovation and excellence, by helping develop a new generation of graduates who are socially and academically proficient to be competitive in a globalized society. The members further affirmed the council’s keen interest in taking advantage of the reputation of HBMeU as a leader in the field of e-Learning and quality management in the Arab World, to engage in collaborative projects that make the most of the university’s unique capabilities to promote continuous education, lifelong learning and providing high-level academic programs, which support government efforts to build a qualified and competent national workforce.

Prof. Nabil Baydoun expressed his delight to discuss ways to cultivate strategic cooperation with Dubai Sports Council, which is the leading entity in developing sports in Dubai. He also affirmed HBMeU’s commitment to provide the council with resources, teaching aids and academic programs, which are based on the principle of providing education for all and lifelong learning, to enhance the council’s performance and its contributions in Dubai’s transition towards a knowledge-based society.

“We showed the delegation the university’s academic programs and reviewed our pioneering experience in enhancing the quality of education, establishing a culture of innovation and excellence and improving e-Learning at the regional level. The delegation’s visit highlights the growing confidence in the university’s competency and its leading role in disseminating knowledge and promoting the culture of e-education and lifelong learning, in accordance with the digital transformation being witnessed worldwide. We hope that our strategic cooperation will deliver tangible results and help us achieve our shared goals and aspirations,” said Baydoun.

He added: “We look forward to launching joint initiatives in the near future that will develop human resources and promote a culture of quality and innovation among the council’s employees. Such initiatives will also support the council’s efforts to promote youth development and build a pioneering sports development model that will elevate Dubai as a global leader in sports.”
