Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana marked the Earth Hour, one of the world’s most important 60 minutes calls to action in the fight against climate change. Switching off the lights, lighting the candles and dancing in a beautiful atmosphere was the tribute from Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana to the beloved planet earth.

This eventbecame unavoidable for the Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana every year in their aim of fighting climate change. Guests and colleagues participated in the candle-lighting ceremony on the 25th of March, 2017 at 08.30 pm showing big commitment towards everyone’s international home, the planet earth. The team at this 5 star Abu Dhabi resort organized a Show Dance with participants from various departments, representing the common purpose. The colleagues at Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana worked hard on preparing the show and activity.

“Hotel industry keeps growing worldwide thus it is vital to preserve the natural resources we have to keep tourists and travelers attracted by regional differences. Hotels are becoming greener and limiting our energy consumption has become a decisive action through the years in all the departments of our hotel”, said Eleni Tsolakou, the General Manager at Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana.

World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) has become an important staple of environmental consciousness and through the Earth Hour it ensures the stability and support since 2007. The panda logo of the group let us understand how fragile the balance on our earth is as pandas have a very short span of adaptability.

The interaction between the guests and colleagues showed a real support to this cause. The day itself was the proof of their faith and commitment. Even though human beings have extraordinary adaptation skills they are so far unable to expand on other planets. Therefore, taking care of the earth, reducing the carbon footprint both in personal life and in the workplace is essential in order to create an educated community towards the impact of its behaviour on our planet.

Earth Hour remains one of the Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana’s many CSR activities lined up in its sustainability plan for the year and the hotel will continue to support similar causes in the future.
