Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies Holds Focus Group Meeting with Insurance Sector Representatives on New Programs for 2018

The Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS), the region's leading institute of education and training for the financial and banking sector, organized a focus group session consisting of specialists of local and international insurance companies based in the UAE to gain their feedback on ways to improve the course content of existing programs.

The focus group was also asked to provide recommendations on new programs that could be introduced in 2018. As a key outcome of the meeting, participants said EIBFS could develop courses that are customized for individual companies and include a larger number of advanced training courses in their annual curriculum.

The meeting was attended by Jamal Al Jasmi, General Manager of Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies, as well as representatives from the Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company, Abu Dhabi National Takaful Company, Noor Takaful Insurance Company, National Takaful Company

Commenting on the session, Jamal Al Jasmi said: "We, at EIBFS, truly appreciate the time spent by the insurance industry managers and experts to share their valuable views on how to improve our training courses. In exchanging their views with the head and faculty of our training department, they have contributed to strengthening our training platforms. The Institute plans to implement the suggestions for courses starting in 2018. I am confident our new programs will respond to the needs of various sectors and enhance their relevance.”

Al Jasmi further added that the aim behind the focus group meetings conducted by Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies was to assess the needs of insurance companies with regard to the skills and competencies expected from fresh UAE national graduates. He said: “Our priority is to provide appropriate training courses that empower UAE nationals and make them ready and confident for the marketplace.”
