Maserati Celebrates Car and Driver’s 2026 Editors’ Choice Award Recognition for GranTurismo and GranCabrio

Maserati today announced that the GranTurismo coupe and GranCabrio convertible have been named as 2026 Car and Driver Editors’ Choice Honorees in the Luxury Sports Car segment. Widely regarded as the automotive world’s ‘honor roll,’ this stamp of approval from one of the world’s most prolific automotive review and news outlets represents a great achievement for the Trident brand.

Car and Driver’s annual Editors’ Choice list highlights vehicles that rise to the top of their respective classes through comprehensive evaluation, including instrumented testing and real-world driving. The editors assess key factors such as performance, features, value, and driving enjoyment to help shoppers identify standout options across today’s new vehicle marketplace.

The 2026 Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio blend sports car performance with refined, long-distance comfort. Designed and engineered in Italy, these hallmark grand tourers exemplify Maserati’s approach to Italian luxury and excellence in motion. In Trofeo form, they are powered by the in-house twin-turbo Nettuno V6 engine, which features pre-chamber combustion technology derived from Formula 1. A new Sports Exhaust system, representing the Trident’s distinctive new voice, now comes standard on all internal combustion GranTurismo and GranCabrio Trofeo models, further accenting the Nettuno V6’ s sonorous character.

The GranTurismo and GranCabrio are also showcased through the Maserati Fuoriserie Program with two special one-off creations: the GranTurismo Meccanica Lirica One-Off and GranCabrio Meccanica Lirica One-Off. Inspired by Modena’s heritage – where mechanical excellence and opera coexist – each features exclusive details, including unique exterior colors – including Rosso Velluto and Oro Lirico – bespoke interior finishes, and one-off design accents that celebrate the return of GranTurismo and GranCabrio production to Maserati’s home factory in Modena, Italy.

“Maserati has a rich legacy of creating stunning and sought-after grand tourers,” said Andrea Soriani, Head of Maserati Americas. “The latest GranTurismo and GranCabrio embody the brand’s trademark Italian style, thrilling performance, and timeless sophistication. We are honored to see them recognized by Car and Driver, one of the industry’s most influential voices.”

With a lineage that traces back to the original Maserati A6 1500 grand tourer, GranTurismo and GranCabrio continue to express unmistakable Italian flair – honoring Maserati’s heritage while confidently looking ahead to the brand’s future.
