Mashreq, one of the UAE’s leading financial institutions announced the appointment of Hameed Noor Mohamed as the new Head of SME Banking.

In his new role, Hameed will be responsible for putting together the strategy of the overall SME business model at Mashreq and its execution in both the retail and corporate segments.

With extensive experience in the banking industry, Hameed has spent 13 years in Mashreq at various senior positions. In his previous role, he was Head of Contractin­g Finance Division & Japan Desk,  focusing on developing the bank’ s relationship with global contractors operating in the Middle East,  as well as heading Mashreq’s alliance with Mizuho Bank.

He also headed Credit Analysis and Portfolio Management for Corporate and Investment Banking atMashreq Bank where he was responsible for portfolio and risk management.

Prior to joining Mashreq, Hameed was with ANZ Grindlays Bank in the UAE, where he held multiple positions in Corporate Banking, Retail Banking and Structured Finan­ce. 

Hameed is a graduate from Madras University, and completed an MBA from the University of Massachusetts. He has also completed the General Management Program from Harvard Business School.
