Mouawad launches the first mouawad watch line

Mouawad, the luxury jewellery and timepieces company, launched their first line of luxury watches to carry the Mouawad signature in Dubaitoday. The Mouawad Swiss Watch Line debuts with a collection of distinctivechronographs—theGrande Ellipse—and a collection of ladies Swiss quartz watches—La Griffe. These luxury wristwatches feature the remarkably detailed excellence of all Mouawad products aligned with the horological expertise of the master watchmakers at their Swiss workshops in Les Breuleuxand Carouge.

The launch of the new line was attended by the company’s three Co-Guardians, BrothersFred, Alain and Pascal Mouawad. Alain Mouawad, Guardian of the Mouawad Watch Division, said: “Today marks another great achievement for Mouawad as the brand officially enters the luxury watch business. My family has been manufacturing watches under the nameRobergé for over 40 years but the Grande Ellipse and La Griffe are the first and only collections engraved with the Mouawad signature”.

Omar Danial, the four-time offshore world champion and pilot of the Mouawad Powerboat Racing Team, which is competing in the 2013 XCAT Middle East Powerboat Series, also attending the presentation, said:“The Grande Ellipse Sport Watch is my time partner and it has been really helpful to keep time under control, both during the trials and the races. Combining clean, sophisticated lines with sporty looks, the finest, most durable materials and audacious construction, The Mouawad Grande Ellipse collection includes twelve sophisticated models, ranging from the more formal diamond-studded or plain rose gold Royales, to the bi-color rose gold and stainless steel Sport Villes, and the bi-color rose gold and titanium Sport models.

Named for its distinctive motif featuring four prongs clasping the bezels—each set with four diamonds or coloured gemstones according to the model—La Griffeis a recherché collection ideal for the tastes of glamorous contemporary women.

Features of the entire Grande Ellipse collection include the use of beautifully manufactured movements with top-level decorated finishes and highly precise 48-hour power reserves running 28,000 oscillations per hour. Each elegantly curve-tailored case features anti-reflection treated sapphire crystals on the face and case-back allowing full view of the exceptional, beautiful movements. To complete the recherché design, the easy-wind crown is stamped with the signature Mouawad ‘M’ and delicately nestled on the dial is the engraved Mouawad nameplate.

La Griffe timepieces are available in two distinct cases: stainless steel and rose gold and feature exquisite décors such as colourful mother-of-pearl dials, Super-Luminova indices, polisheddome-shaped hands and Mouawad engraved case-back and buckle.The distinct oversized Arabic numerals at 6 and 12 catch the eye with their coloured lacquer finishes or diamond settings and each elegantly polished case is embellished with precious stones that will surely capture the heart of every fashionable woman. Hidden from sight, the case-back is engraved with the Mouawad ‘M’ pattern complimenting Mouawad’s distinctive logo.

The new Mouawad Watch Collection is available with prices ranging from 8,900USD to 49,000USD for the Grand Ellipse collection and Sport Ville Collection and from 3,900USD to 23,750USD for La Griffe collection.
