The Municipal System to change the situation of 528 employs from off- chart to on-chart positions

As step to enhance the Municipal System efforts to achieve the strategic objectives of the government of Abu Dhabi by providing prosperous life to its citizens and to enhance professional and career development of the employees, the Higher Management Committee of the municipal system had settled 528 employees issues in the municipal system of which 92 of them in Abu Dhabi Municipality and 436 employees in Al Ain. More over the coming period will witness the completion of data collection related to the Western Region Municipality employees as step to change their employment status from off-chart to on-chart positions to be part of the approved organizational structure.

The new move came after a meeting held at Al Ain City Municipality and chaired by H.E Majid Ali Al Mansouri the Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) and attended by H.E Dr.Matar Al Nuaimi the general Manager of Al Ain City Municipality and H.E Musabah Mubarak Al Marar the Western Region Municipality and a number of officials in the Municipal System.

This action was taken after the Civil Service Council approved a request submitted by the DMA to the General Secretariat Executive Council requesting to solve the issue of employees who were listed outside the chart.

Subsequently the Civil Service Council gave the required support to create a number of jobs to enable the Municipal System to bring those new employees on board as a chart status after allocating new titles for those employees on the organizational chart.

Reflecting the keenness of the Municipal System to apply best Human Resources practice which ensures fairness among employees based on their capabilities and skills, this decision will enable all concerned employees to get the appropriate grade, allowances and perks, as well as the salary related to the concerned grade.

Furthermore the Human Resources Division in the municipal system had already started working on implementing the necessary procedures to implement the decree.

This move will enhance the working environment of the municipal system and will insight employees for more production and better achievements. It will also improve their competences in a way that will contribute to the efforts of Municipal System that to enhance services offered to residents, investors and visitors of the Emirate.

On the other hand the Higher Management Committee of the municipal system reviewed emergency and crisis management methodology in the Municipal System and approving unified strategy to deal with crisis and emergency in line with the Abu Dhabi Emirate General Strategy in this regard.

The committee also reviewed the experience of crisis and emergency office in Al Ain City Municipality, work flow, objectives and tasks of the work done during normal conditions and during crisis.

The Western Region Municipality presented the rules and tasks of its emergency and Crisis Management Office and its relations with other government’s strategies with governments entities within the general frame work of the emirate.

The office also displayed activities and emergency drills conducted from time to time as well as awareness and media campaigns to educate public on how to deal with crisis situations and reduce its impacts.
