Omanoil drives national efforts to advocate road safety at Traffic Safety Expo 2013

Driving national efforts to reduce road accidents, Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) is sponsoring Traffic Safety Expo 2013 for the 4th consecutive year. A Royal Oman Police initiative, the expo features innovative solutions to vehicular accidents and is a platform for companies to share effective safety models and best practices.
“There is no one-stop solution for road accidents and the problem cannot be solved in a matter of days,” said Engr. Faisal Al Shanfari, omanoil General Manager of HR, Administration, Corporate, procurements and HSSE. “The first step in combating vehicular accidents is addressing peoples’ attitudes towards traffic safety and guiding them in developing responsible road usage. Initiatives that encourage open discussion such as this expo are the way forward to instil the importance of road safety in the minds of motorists, parents and the youth.”
The expo aims to promote a safe traffic culture among all members of society and as a young and dynamic organization, omanoil continuously focuses its efforts on the youth as the future of the nation. At the expo, omanoil’s stall is equipped with games, activities and quizzes to educate children while road etiquette and driving tips are posted on the company’s official Facebook page.
Running until the 14th of November 2013, Traffic Safety Expo 2013 is being held at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.
