Oryx Rotana honors its colleagues

In recognition of the diligent efforts made by employees to improve the quality of services provided to customers, Oryx Rotana, the five star luxury business hotel in Doha, honoured its elite colleagues at the annual recognition event held recently. This gesture by the management is aimed at supporting the colleagues, creating a healthy as well as encouraging working environment.

The event kicked off with a welcome speech by Mark Timbrell, General Manager at Oryx Rotana who said: “I thank all our colleagues at Oryx Rotana Doha Hotel for their immense effort in maintaining a good reputation that pervades the hotel in the hospitality sector over the past year, and congratulate all employees who have been honored for the tasks they fulfilled in 2015.”

Timbrell also reviewed the hotel's achievements during the last quarter of 2015; the most important of which was the completion of renovations in some of the hotel facilities. Furthermore, he highlighted the challenges that the tourism sector is facing in general and reassured the colleagues that 2016 will be a good year for the hotel. He also acknowledged how the colleagues’ efforts have paid off in making three of the hotel’s restaurants to the top 10 on TripAdvisor.

The ceremony, which adopted an around-the-world theme, included talent shows where employees performed live through singing and dancing. There was also a raffle segment in between programs that qualified participants to win a range of prizes, gifts and travel tickets.

In addition to these events, the hotel’s management distributed trophies and certificates to the awardees and recognised their efforts and active participation in the hotel’s success and progress.

The following awards were distributed: Colleague of the Year 2015 Front of the House and Heart of the House award, Supervisor of the Year 2015 award, Manager of the Year 2015 award and Department Head of the Year 2015 award.
