Qatar Foundation hosts President of Burkina Faso

Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development hosted His Excellency Blaise Compaore, President of Burkina Faso, as part of his state visit to Qatar.
Engineer Jassim Telefat, Group Executive Director of Qatar Foundation Capital Projects and Facilities Management, received the President and his delegation at the Qatar Foundation Visitor Centre.
During the visit President Compaore listened to a presentation outlining the vision and mission of Qatar Foundation. He was also introduced to its many initiatives, community development plans, scientific research programmes, and sustainability and environmental conservation solutions.
After the presentation, His Excellency and his delegation were shown an impressive 3D scale model of the current educational and research buildings in addition to future construction projects at Qatar Foundation.
President Compaore described his visit as a pleasant occasion, enabling him to observe Qatar Foundation’s efforts and contributions in unlocking human potential both locally and globally. He stressed that the Foundation’s efforts play an important role in harnessing peace for the benefit of mankind.
“Education and knowledge are the key drivers of development in the world,” he said. “We must strive to share this knowledge in the interest of mankind. Cooperation between nations will make the world a better place and we strive to be a part of this mutual exchange of knowledge. We look forward to collaborating with Qatar Foundation and are already active in various arenas, especially in relation to education and community development.”
At the end of the visit, President Compaore signed Qatar Foundation’s Visitors’ book and was presented with an honorary gift.
The President had arrived in Qatar earlier today on a one-day state visit aimed at enhancing bilateral relations. The State of Qatar and Burkina Faso have an active relationship, especially with regards to humanitarian efforts, with Qatar Charity having successfully executed numerous projects in the West African state. These initiatives were focused on supporting developmental programmes by providing citizens with basic necessities in cooperation with local authorities, particularly with regard to water sanitation and income generating ventures.
