The 2020 Nissan GT-R NISMO continues to be all about total balance, with improved carbon fiber application to reduce weight, increase downforce and enhance aerodynamics – all providing a faster and more exciting drive.

From race-proven turbochargers, improved gearbox shift control, lighter components and reduced overall mass to upgrades to the brakes, wheels and tires, every component contributes to a 2.5-second reduction in lap time around Nissan's development track.

The improved aerodynamics of the 2020 GT-R NISMO is due to its new lightweight carbon fiber parts and new front fender vents. The carbon fiber fender vents feature carefully designed fins that allow for optimal airflow, cooling hot air from the engine and providing exceptional downforce to the front tires, reducing drag coefficient.

Other new carbon fiber parts include the hood, roof, side sill covers, and trunk and rear spoiler, resulting in a total weight savings of 10.5 kilograms. The biggest contributor comes from a change in materials used in the brake rotors themselves to a carbon and silicon carbide structure, allowing for a 16.3 kilogram drop in unsprung weight of the car.

Background Information

Nissan Middle East

Nissan’s heritage in the Middle East goes way back to 1957, when the first Nissan vehicle was sold in Saudi Arabia. Since then the Nissan Legacy has taken deep roots in the hearts of the Middle East people by becoming an integral part of their lives.

Currently Nissan is one of the most popular and successful automobile brands in the Middle East boasting of a strong line-up ranging from popular passenger cars to powerful 4x4 series and commercial vehicles.

In its quest to closely understand the local needs of its customers, Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. in June, 1994 set up a regional Middle East head quarters in Dubai, thus becoming the first Japanese car manufacturer to accomplish this feat. The Nissan Middle East FZE office houses a highly sophisticated training center which serves as an excellent training ground for undertaking Nissan customer care and service activities.
