Statistics published by Qatar's Ministry of Economy and Commerce indicate that living has become costlier in the country during the first nine months of 2005. House rents remain the single largest catalyst of inflation as the increase has been substantial at 5.4 per cent from the outset of this year until the end of third quarter (Q3) in September.
Construction materials which continue to be in short supply, witnessed a price rise of 1.5 per cent in the three quarters this year.
