Qatar Petroleum spent more than QR1.5bn on local procurements in five years

Qatar Petroleum (QP) spent in excess of QR1.5bn for local procurement over the last five years of which Qatari businesses won QR1.25bn under nearly 100,000 direct orders and call-off agreement orders, according to Abdulaziz Zeid Al-Taleb, QP Materials Manager.  

 

He said long-term stocking and supply agreements with the local business community now number over 150 worth in excess of QR350m, according to The Peninsula.  

 

Abdulaziz Zeid Al-Taleb was speaking at the third suppliers forum hosted by the QP Materials Department Tuesday at the Laffan Hall, Falcon Club in its ongoing efforts to boost business relations between QP and the supply community in Qatar.  

 

The forum which was chaired by Abdulaziz Zeid Al-Taleb, offered over a hundred local companies an opportunity to discuss issues and challenges facing both sides with the materials department management team, a QP release said.  

 

Participants held an informative exchange of views on a wide range of supply chain topics, including those related to local suppliers, decision-making cycles, post-tender negotiation, feedback from QP and implementation of the SAP system. (menareport.com)
