The recent rise in housing rents has led to an increase in the number of disputes and cases being filed at the courts in Qatar.

About 30 cases involving landlords and tenants are being heard by the courts on an average daily, according to Al Sharq.

Quoting legal and property market sources, the daily newspaper said it was apparent from the number of disputes listed on the courts' notice boards that there was a substantial rise in rent-related litigations. Disputes between property owners and tenants have also prompted a large number of tenants to deposit rents with the courts.
