Gulf News daily reported Tuesday on the growing problem in Dubai due to the high rents. According to the newspaper, landlords tend to evict tenants who resist further hikes.

"We have seen a rise in eviction cases being filed by landlords against their tenants," a senior official of the Dubai Rent Committee, was quoted as saying. The official added the number of cases against rent increases had reduced since the 15 per cent maximum limit order was issued on Friday.
