A city to house low-income expatriates is being planned on the outskirts of the Qatari capital by the authorities concerned to help combat spiralling rents in the capital, The Peninsula reported.
Rents for families and single workers getting housing units in the proposed city are to be fixed strictly in accordance with their monthly income.
A huge plot of land has already been directed for the purpose near the Industrial Area and the authorities are set to invite private real estate investment firms to build housing units in the proposed city.
