US-based Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory has signed a contract with United Arab Emirates (UAE)’ Al-Muhairy Group to be the company’s master franchise license holder for the Gulf Region. The deal covers markets in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar.

To expand their franchise beyond North America, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory contracted commerce department agency, US Commercial Service to send marketing packets to Commercial Service offices worldwide. As a result, the candy firm came to the attention of Al-Muhairy Group's Project Manager, Sanjay Duggal. The agreement was finalized less than 12 months after the companies' initial contact

Established in 1981, the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory produces over two million pounds of chocolate annually from its manufacturing facility in Colorado. The philosophy behind the shop was to recapture the charm of a Victorian candy store. The company opened two franchises in the UAE in 2000 in Al-Muhairy Center and Al-Ain Mall. — (menareport.com)
