Saudi authorities confiscate $1.3 billion worth of counterfeit software

Officials at the Saudi Ministry of Information have recently cracked down on a number of computer stores in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al-Khobar, reported Al-Watan . During the inspection campaigns, officers confiscated more than five billion Saudi Riyals worth of counterfeit computer software. These investigations are part of the Saudi authority’s plans to eradicate computer program piracy and to promote intellectual property protection. — (menareport.com)
