SITA completes $26 Million IT project at Dubai International Airport

Systems Integrator, SITA recently completed the supply, installation and commissioning of a wide range of information technology (IT) systems at Dubai International Airport, in support of its ongoing expansion and growth, confirmed a press release.  

 

Valued at over $26 million, the new communications and IT infrastructure systems have been integrated by SITA over a three-year period, 1999 to 2002, as defined in the original contract and, including added variation orders.  

 

Currently, SITA is in the final phase of the last variation order to undertake small-scale integration of all additional systems across the airport. All the airport systems are already operating on a campus communications network infrastructure implemented by SITA using Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) technologies. In addition, the external fiber backbone network is in-place and completed, providing a high-speed a communications infrastructure across the entire airport and facilitating the use of Internet technologies and web-based applications.  

 

SITA provided a totally integrated solution including for the airport, but not limited to, consultancy, design, project management, supply, installation, quality control and assurance, safety systems and procedures, commissioning and the integration of newly installed systems to existing infrastructure provided by third-party contractors. — (menareport.com)
