Ch. Karnchang Public Com, a leading Thai construction firm, is set to establish operations in the UAE, following a recent visit to the country by company representatives.

A delegation from the Thai company visited Abu Dhabi and Dubai to appraise the potential of the local construction market. Its representative met for four days with industry counterparts, and they have already drafted a proposal to set up operations in Abu Dhabi, reported Gulf News.

Ch. Karnchang has also invested in two affiliates and four joint-venture firms to carry out contracting jobs.

Ch. Karnchang is a listed company in Bangkok with a paid-up capital of 1,050 million baht. It is engaged in the construction of highways, expressways, large-scale buildings, industrial plants, public works and medium and small-scale projects. Construction of highways and expressways accounts for the majority of the group's work; and it was also involved in construction of the Bangkok International Airport.

Between September 19 and 22, more than 150 companies from Thailand will travel to the UAE for a trade fair in Sharjah. – (Albawaba-MEBG)
