The annual report of global competitiveness has classed Tunisia in 42nd place, ahead of Italy, Morocco, Poland, Romania and Turkey, according to a report published in the Tunisian daily newspaper "Le Temps" published this week. The same report also classed Tunisia’s macro economic competitiveness in terms of interest and exchange rates.
The survey explored the performance of 104 countries. The 2004 report was published jointly with the "The Heritage Foundation" and the "The Wall Street journal." Tunisia is now well ahead of neighboring north African and Arab countries such as Lebanon and Egypt.
