A specialized source reported that 26 Tunisian enterprises will be privatized in 2002. Of these enterprises, 16 companies will be privatized by selling their assets and governmental capital share holdings, reported Al-Watan . The capital of five of the enterprises will be up for sale with the remaining five still up for discussion. Since the launch of the privatization scheme in Tunisia in 1987, 140 enterprises have been privatized. This process yielded 140 million Tunisian Dinars ($94.2 million)in returns. — (menareport.com)
