Mercator, the Information Technology (IT) division of the Dubai-based Emirates Group, recently unveiled a new Internet system that manages and tracks aircraft freight and baggage containers as they travel the world's airways. The system, named NOMAD, caters to the needs of passenger and cargo airlines, as well as ground handling agents and airports, stated a company press release.

NOMAD also offers advanced inventory, stock control and messaging functionality, damage and repair tracking modules, interline loaning modules and Management Information System tools. The Paris-based Mercator recently implemented the NOMAD technology for Emirates and SriLankan Airlines. — (menareport.com)
