The value of the Federal Government’s total spending on investment projects hit 704 million Emirati Dirhams ($191 million) in the first nine months of last year, reported Al-Bayan . This spending volume constituted 37 percent of the total investments allocated for the same year. The Emirates Minister of Planning, Sheikh Hameed Al-Maala, attributed the delay in awarding new investment project tenders by the federal government to the postponed approval of the new budget for 2002. — (menareport.com)
