“The socio-economic patterns in Saudi Arabia are undergoing a major transformation and educated national women are making a definite impact on society. Saudi national women are breaking the traditional image of the homebound housewife to take an active part in public and corporate life and also use progressive methods of thinking in all spheres of life,” said Dina Faidi, founder of Creativity & Beyond and a certified Master Trainer of Edward de Bono’s and Tony Buzan’s Creative Thinking programs.
Faidi has recently conducted two two-day workshops for the members of the women’s wing of the Saudi Management Group. The first workshop in Riyadh focused on cases and issues related to business, and directly targeted businesswomen heading their own companies, in addition to senior management executives in the government. The second seminar held in Dammam, targeted a group of senior women executives from the education ministry and dealt with cases and issues related to education. Faidi also lectured about 100 women students at the King Saud University in Riyadh on a range of topics that included creative thinking to solve problems, finding a lateral path, shorter time to complete tasks, memory skills and mind mapping tools.
“Both seminars dealing with creative thinking leading towards leadership were attended by about 30 ladies each. The deep-seated and fervent determination of the women to ensure their overall enhancement was remarkable. All the attendees of the first seminar were there because of their own personal interest and had not been sponsored by employers. This highlighted their keen interest to make a difference to their lives,” she added.
Escalating competition and the need to develop cost effective and time efficient systems have emphasized the importance of creative thinking methods at the workplace. The trend has become increasingly evident in the Gulf and Middle East region as more and more corporate houses and business groups have begun to offer their members training in such methods, in an effort to enhance efficiency levels that will result in greater financial returns.
Faidi’s seminars deal with a host of topics that go a long way in radically enhancing the thinking process of the team members, which eventually translates into enhanced financial returns for the organization.
Faidi has recently trained representatives of the government departments in Dubai as part of the Dubai Government Excellence Program, in addition to conducting evening seminars at the Dubai Quality Group and regular training sessions for people from government and private sector organizations. The Dubai Government Excellence Program seminar was attended by 150 employees from different government departments including Dubai Municipality, Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Civil Defense, Dubai Police, Civil Aviation and Department of Economic Development. — (menareport.com)
