The works on the first stage of Um al-Khayr housing project, located near the historical area of Abraq al-Raghama to the east of the city of Jeddah, are currently going on, reported the Saudi newspaper Al-Jazira on October 31.
The project, directed for middle-income earners, includes in its first stage 80 villas, designed in five different models based on modern construction styles.
The costs of the first phase are estimated at SR61 million ($16.26 million). 65% of the first stage of the project has been accomplished so far, and 40 villas have already been delivered. The other villas which belong to the first stage will be delivered before the end of 2005.
