An official source in the Yemeni Gardening Department of the agriculture ministry said Monday that the cold wave in some regions of the country has hit plantations of vegetables in Marib and Hadramout.
According to SABA, Hamid al-Bashiri said his department received reports from Marib and Hadramout that the leaves of growing potatoes were noticed dying out but that the ministry delivered leaflets raising the awareness of farmers on how to deal with the problem.
A few days earlier, the agricultural expert called on farmers to quit gardening in order to avoid the impact of the cold wave on their plantations.
