Yemen signs contract to build biggest dam

The Yemeni government has signed a contract with local and other Arab firms for designing the Ghail Ba-Wazeer dam, projected to be the biggest dam in Yemen. 

 

The dam will boast 40 meters in width, 12 kilometers in capacity and YR1.5 billion in cost, said Ahmed Ujaj, Manager of the Hadhramout Agriculture Office, in a statement to Saba news agency.  

 

The foundation stone for Miftah al-Rasd, another dam, will be laid down in Mayfa'a region, Hadhramout, he said, adding that the dam will cost YR 200 million. (menareport.com)
