Central Trade and Auto Company sponsors the Desert force Championship for Mixed Martial Arts

Central Trade and Auto Company (CTA), the official dealers for Toyota, Lexus and Hino in the Kingdom, sponsored the Desert Force Championship for Mixed Martial Arts, organized by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation of Jordan on Wednesday, Dec. 8 2010 at the National Orthodox Club.
The tournament will feature the participation of a number of local players, including kick-boxing champion Jad Al Wahsh, taekwondo player Mohannad Da'asan, jiu-jitsu champions Hisham Arakha, Saddam Abdullah, Jibreel Tayeh and Mohammad Qoqazi, in addition to a number of players from neighboring Arab and foreign nations.
"We believe in the importance of private sector support for sports initiatives that seek to make a difference in the local athletic landscape," commented CTA's Marketing Manager Nadim Haddad. "This tournament opens up new vistas of possibility for local sports by drawing on international experiences in a highly versatile area of physical fitness."
The tournament will follow international mixed martial arts rules. The games will take place within an eight-corner ring, as opposed to conventional boxing or wrestling rings. Matches featuring Arab players will take place over two five-minute rounds, whereas foreign players will compete in three rounds of the same duration. Matches conclude either by knockout or submission.
CTA has a rich track record of supporting sports initiatives around the Kingdom, including their sponsorship of basketball teams in the Junior Super League for Children and their support of the Amman Equestrian Championship.
