Children of Royal Charity Organization and Salmaniya Hospital get surprise visit

Bahrain Summer Festival mascot “Nakhool” has been busy spreading the Bahrain Summer Festival message of joy, hope and cultural unity across the island throughout the month. The cheerful roadshow most recently stopped by to visit the children at the pediatric ward in Salmaniya Hospital (July 18th) and hosted children from the Royal Charity Organization (July 20th) at Seef Mall. The smiling children, their parents, as well as staff were surprised and delighted with the visit and posed for pictures with “Nakhool” who also played games with the kids distributed gifts amongst them.

The “Nakhool Roadshow” aims to engage the local community and spread the festival’s positive message, especially amongst the youth. Previous visits by Nakhool have included the Center for Disabled Children, Dar Al Tofoula (Center for Childhood), and Dar Al Karama. Other stops in the roadshow have included MODA Mall, Bahrain Airport, and the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Center (BIECC).

In addition to the main festival shows at the Cultural Hall and the BIECC, “Nakhool” hosts a broad range of free family-oriented activities at his tent, located next to Arad Fort until July 31st every evening from 5 to 10 pm.

Only three performances remain on the Bahrain Summer Festival 2011 schedule: “Alice in Wonderland” (July 20 – 21 at 5 pm in Cultural Hall), “Merchants of Bollywood” (July 21 – 22 at 8 pm in BIECC), and finally “Georgian Legend: Samaia’s Little Virtuosos” (July 25 – 26 at 7 pm in BIECC).
