A car bomb in Homs killed at least 10 people and wounded more than 40 in a pro-government neighborhood on Sunday, Associated Press reports. The bomb detonated in Zahra district, an area with a large Alawite and Christian population.
The Syrian government and the Syrian opposition have agreed on two cease-fire deals in Homs this month, but this attack threatened to dismantle the tenuous peace agreements.
According to AP, Syrian state television has blamed “terrorists” for the attack, the term the Assad regime uses for rebel fighters.
Syria citizens are struggling to survive as the three year long civil war rages on.
