A Lebanese woman was arrested for allegedly attempting to hire two strangers to kill her husband, a statement from the Internal Security Forces reported Tuesday.
The woman, identified as M.D., born in 1987, allegedly offered two Syrian men $10,000 for the killing.
Instead, they notified her Lebanese husband and tricked M.D. into thinking they were carrying out the operation. After paying the agreed fee in cash and fake checks on Feb. 12, M.D. reported her husband missing. He filed a complaint Thursday against his wife and the accomplices, leading to their arrest.
The woman reportedly admitted to the crime and to having an affair with an unidentified Lebanese man, with whom she shared details of the plot.
