Melania's daughter-in-law Ivanka sent her best wishes via Instagram and Twitter, sharing a sweet snap of the birthday girl with her husband.

President Donald Trump wished his wife of 15 years Melania a happy 50th birthday via Twitter on Sunday.

'Happy Birthday to Melania, our great First Lady!' Trump wrote on his favorite form of communication.

The Trump family is set to celebrate Melania's golden jubilee birthday in quiet fashion at the White House given nationwide coronavirus lockdowns, according to her chief of staff Stephanie Grisham.

Melania's daughter-in-law Ivanka sent her best wishes via Instagram and Twitter, sharing a sweet snap of the birthday girl with her husband.

Her other daughter-in-law Lara Trump, wife of the president's son Eric, also posted a picture in honor of her birthday.

Fans flooded social media with tributes to the first lady, including GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.

'Thank you for the amazing job you do serving our country as First Lady,' McDaniel tweeted along with a photo of Donald and Melania.

UK Ambassador Woody Johnson tweeted a compilation of photos of Melania, writing: 'Suzanne and I wish a very Happy Birthday to our friend and First Lady, Melania Trump!'

Melania has remained largely out of the public eye since the coronavirus pandemic took hold in the US last month.

Last week she made her first public appearance since March 10 when she and her husband marked Earth Day by planting a tree on the South Lawn at the White House.

While sheltering at home at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, the first lady has remained active on social media, posting video tips on how to cope and retweeting advice from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

She appears to be taking a break from the web for her birthday weekend, having only retweeted a few posts in the past couple days.

Grisham did not say who would be in attendance at the celebration on Sunday, but it's sure to be a more intimate guest list than last year's.

On her 49th birthday, Melania hosted a private dinner in the White House residence with Japanese Prime Minister Minister Shinzō Abe and his wife Akie Abe.

The two birthdays prior also saw her put her public persona ahead of her private one as she stood alongside her husband during important political events in the Oval Office.

Melania's birthdays before she entered the White House were decidedly more glitzy, including a walk on the red carpet at the Time 100 Gala in 2016.
