Prominent Egyptian comedian-actor Adel Imam came face to face with death when a sudden explosion was heard from the rear of his car on his way back from Alexandria. The singer was able to break free and get out of the car just in time without being injured.
The accident occurred late at night as the actor was driving home on the desert road, which witnessed light traffic at the time, and suddenly the actor heard the explosion making him and those accompanying him get out of the vehicle immediately. The actor realized that his rear tire had exploded and so he immediately changed it with a spare on and continued his long drive home.
After six years of separation Adel returned back to work with famous scenarist Waheed Hamed. The new project the two are working on is quoted from the novel “Aamaret Ya’qoubian” and filming is scheduled to begin in the few coming weeks.
The director for the new film will be Marwan, the son of scenarist Waheed Hamid, and he is given a strong start as his first step into directing. The movie is about fighting corruption and Adel performs the role of a high ranked official who is suspected to be involved in different acts of corruption.
According to the London based, Elaph, Adel voiced that he was not on bad terms with Waheed for the past six years, and its just that Waheed was writing stories that were not suitable for him.
About working with a fresh director, Adel stressed that it is a good thing to support and cooperate with the young generation and described director Marwan as an open minded enthusiastic director. Adel said that he decided to make two movies a year and not only one as he used to do for the past few years due to the great success his movies are facing. -Albawaba.com
