Egyptian pop-singer Amr Diab was recently in Lebanon to participate in the Tripoli International Music Festival where he held a concert that proved to be a great success. Amr was asked about his absence during the summer and he simply answered that he was not invited to participate in any of the events that took place in Lebanon.
Amr stressed that he does not know the reason from excluding him from the events that took place during the summer and added that if he was invited he would have come with any hesitation. According to the London based daily, Dar Al Hayat, Amr revealed that he is currently preparing to shoot a new commercial for Pepsi alongside International singers Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguillera.
Amr noted that he will use some of the scenes from the new commercial in his upcoming music video, just as American singer Britney Spears did in her last ad with him and Enrique Iglesias.
About his disputes with producer Mohsen Gaber, Amr said that all disputes have been solved without any legal procedures and that he is happy being with Rotana. Amr said that his ambition is to win one of the world music prizes like Grammy or MTV Award and that would be easier now after opening the competitions to include all singers in the world.
The latest movie projects for Amr is two movies one about a singer who talks about his career and all political changes that affected his singing career. The other movie is historical and talks about the Andalusia era. The names of the movies were not revealed but production will be by Mohammed Al-Adel and scenario by Midhat Al-Adel and direction for Tarek Aryan. –Albawaba.com
