Prominent Egyptian singer Amr Diab is currently preparing to play one of the most important roles in his acting career, and had recently signed a contract with Al-Adel group, which is the production company producing the film. Amr will be playing the role of the great Arab conqueror Tarek Bin Ziad.
Director Sherif Arafa has been nominate to direct the film, which is expected to find great success among viewers. With this movie, Amr will attempt to try his luck once more in acting after being a legend as a singer. The movie shows the golden era of Arabs in Spain.
The movie is expected to be screened in September 2005 at the same date of the release of Amr’s next album.
Recently Amr Diab was forced to stop singing during his concert in Syria after an official from the company sponsoring his performance assaulted one of his fans. The singer was in shock when the official from Syria Tel began senselessly beating a fan who had managed to go on stage to personally greet Amr.
Amr became furious at the scene and ran to rescue his fan and demanded that the official be instantly removed from the scene or else he will not continue his performance. Amr stressed that Art is noble message to everyone and he is against all forms of violence of all levels. He added that despite the fact that his performance in Syria was a charity event for the handicapped, but the incident that occurred in front of him made him go in rage leading him to threaten pulling out and stop his concert. –Albawaba.com
