Let's admit it, we're all kind of obsessed with Elissa's new music video “Ya Merayti” (My Mirror), and even Maya Diab is not immune to the song's wooing abilities. The Lebanese songstress gave her co-patriot's project a shout out on social media.
“I am in love with @elissakh new music video real success congratulations #elissa @angyjamal," tweeted Maya.
Elissa's "Ya Merayti” delivers an important message to all women on earth, urging them to fight for their rights against anyone who is trying to take them away, specifically in the case of those being abused by their husbands.
In the video, Elissa plays the role of a housewife who is the victim of domestic violence. At the end of the video, we see her as a successful author who's written a book about her life story.
"My book is about a women who has suffered. Maybe this woman is watching today; she should know that this isn't the end. Break your silence, not your reflection in the mirror," she says at the end.
The clip published on May 14th has garnered over 1.5 million views on YouTube in less than a week, and obviously Maya Diab is to thank for one (or a dozen) of those hits!
