ALBAWABA - Debbie Nelson, Eminem's mother, passed away at the age of 69.

In St. Joseph, Missouri, Nelson went away as a result of complications that were associated with advanced lung cancer. Billboard has attempted to get in touch with the office of the medical examiner. It was early in the year 2024 when reports of her cancer diagnosis surfaced.

Nelson, the eldest of five children, was born on a military base in Kansas. He was the oldest of the five. Over the course of her adolescent years, she tied the knot with Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr., and on October 17, 1972, she gave birth to Eminem, who was born Marshall Mathers.

Throughout his upbringing and into his Hall of Fame career, Em and his mother had a relationship that was fraught with conflict. The legendary Detroit rap artist revealed his contempt for his mother in songs such as "Cleanin' Out My Closet" and "My Name Is."

It was in 1999 when Nelson filed a lawsuit against her son for defamation, seeking eleven million dollars. Despite the fact that the judge decided in her favor, she was only granted $25,000 in 2001, and after paying for legal bills, she recouped a far smaller amount.

Additionally, she disclosed a significant portion of her connection with Eminem in her memoir, which was published in 2007 and was titled My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem.

Nelson expressed her approval of her son's admission into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, which occurred in more recent periods of time. She sent a video message of congratulations to Marshall at the time, saying, "Marshall, I want to say, I could not let this day go by without congratulating you on your induction into the Hall of Fame." "You are very dear to my heart. I had no doubt that you would arrive. There has been a lengthy journey. I am extremely, extremely proud of you. In addition, I am quite proud of my granddaughter, Hailie Jade, who is my older daughter. You guys are doing a fantastic job with your show, Hailie, and I want to say that God blesses you all. I adore you in a very deep way.
