The Arts House Theater has decided to postpone the opening of the play “Hikaya Lam Tarweeha Shahrazad” (A Story not told by Shahrazad), starring prominent Egyptian actress Ghada, until mid September.
The play was scheduled to open in Alexandria, but all plans were changed upon audience request.
According to the London based Elaph, a crisis erupted after local Egyptian television showed disinterest in filming the play for future screening. The local network disapproved of certain edits made by the Egyptian Censorship committee.
On a different note, Ghada made shocking revelations about the late renowned Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki, while appearing as a guest on the show “Mubashir” (Live) aired on MBC satellite channel.
On the show, hosted by journalist Mahmoud Saed, Ghada revealed that she was Ahmad’s caretaker during his illness due to their strong friendship and close bond.
Ghada affirmed that Ahmad would have done the same for her if she were ill, adding that she had become experienced assisting cancer patients since losing her mother and brother to the disease just last year.
“Ahmad had gone blind before his death, a week before he fell into a coma, and his right arm became paralyzed,” explained Ghada.
She ominously noted that certain members of his medical team neglected to watch him closely before he fell into the coma.
The actress denied that she and Ahmad were secretly married, but revealed that he had asked for her hand in marriage while he was being treated to avoid the creation of rumors that may hurt her reputation.
