Egyptian star Hannan Turk has hit out at rumors about her love life. The former actress finally came forward to let gossipers know that she is happily single and wants a quiet life away from the spotlight.
Hannan sent waves through the celebrity Arab world when she announced that she would be quitting acting in an interview with Lebanese TV host Nishan in a Ramadan episode of 'Ana Wel Asal' (Me and the Honey).
Since then the rumor mill has been in full swing, producing possible love interests that could be behind her shock decision. The first suspect was popular preacher Amr Khaled who the Egyptian beauty worked alongside during his recent 'Id'ey' (Pray) campaign.
But, after a source close to Mohammad came forward late last week to say that there was no truth behind the rumors, Hannan has followed suit. According to Middle East news portal Elaph, Hannan was shocked and upset by the gossip and said that she and Mohammad are just close friends.
The angry star went on to say that she quit acting to please God not to satisfy a mystery lover and - what with Motherhood and her recent devotion to charity - she doesn't have time for a relationship anyway.
Hannan hopes that her comments have put the rumors to rest so that she can finally step out at the spotlight.
