Prominent Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmi has begun filming the first scenes of his upcoming television drama “Muwatin Bi Rutbit Wazeer” (A Citizen with the Rank of a Minister), written by Yasr Al Siawi and directed by Adel Al Asser.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Hussein plays a duel role in the drama of twin brothers who are complete opposites - one honest and the other corrupt.
Circumstances lead the honest twin, who is a writer, to become a Minister. The film depicts his struggle, trying to preserve his innate character while adopting that of a politician. The corrupt twin is an advertising agent, and womanizer, and of course manages to cause many problems for his honest brother.
On another note, Hussein has turned down an offer for one million Egyptian pounds to star in a new commercial for a tobacco company. The actor explained that he refuses to take part in such commercials, stressing that he would never encourage smoking, or promote such a lethal habit.
